Alan has been working with web pages since around '99 when he developed a simple web interface for office users to share documents and contact information. Since then he has continued to develop a range of web sites and web applications mainly for business use.
His main areas of expertise has been in the development of management information systems, or online database applications. He has also worked extensively with Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server (MOSS) and custom built ASP.net web applications. He specialises in Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Active directory, SQL server, Sharepoint and Visual Studio, and is currently working with Microsoft partner products from CorasWorks, Telerik and AvePoint.
For smaller, traditional type websites Alan prefers to use Dreamweaver and HTML, some AJAX, javascript and likes CSS based templates, he has also worked with Joomla, an open source PHP based content management system.
At the end of the day, the internet is continually evolving, Alan works hard to stay up to date with technologies, and strives to work with latest and most appropriate tools.
Alan, maintains both Windows and Linux based hosting solutions, to ensure that once your website is built it can be hosted on the most appropriate professinally managed servers. He can also advise on search optimisation techniques and online advertising campaigns to ensure that your site will be seen.
